Requiring Timesheets for Certain People

Configure your settings to require timesheets for individuals with specific employee types.

For customers of our Timesheets feature.


To require only certain people to fill out timesheets:

Note: Only Company Admins and HR Admins can configure company settings. To learn more, please refer to: Understanding User Roles & Permissions.

  1. Click your company name at the top of the main menu, then click Company Settings.

  2. Click the Profiles tab.

    Note: If the Profiles tab is not initially visible, click the More dropdown.

  3. In the Employee Types section, make sure the correct employee types are configured and/or create additional employee types if needed. For example, if you have full-time employees who are hourly and full-time employees who are salaried, you could create two new employee types called Hourly and Salaried.

  4. Locate the Profile Tabs section and click the Timesheets link.

  5. When the window opens, click the dropdown arrow next to each employee type to choose the appropriate level of access for those individuals. 

  6. Click Save

People who can access timesheets can now view the Timesheets tab in their profile. Those individuals will also receive the weekly timesheet reminder email if enabled. To learn more, refer to: Timesheets Settings Explained.
